Wow. Incredible. Seriously, this is amazing.
I definitely like the newer meaning of it best, personally. It seems to me to have an almost intimate feeling, soft and a little bit surreal. I've been browsing your gallery a bit, and I'm absolutely amazed at what you can do with glass (and liquid, too, for that matter).
It really is just gorgeous, if not outright awe-inspiring. Beautiful work.

Yeah, there is but it's ridiculously expensive (from about $850 US and up). Hell I can't even afford my prints any more. I have a bunch of galleries handling my stuff these days and it's all under contract. It's sort of ridiculous and I have to deal with it for the next year or two. After that I can give them away if I want but until then my hands are tied... Works out great financially for me but its a real pain in the butt when a friend asks for a print.
I should have stuck with my 'just doing this for fun' idea I had when I began shooting.
Sorry Sue...

....Incredible. Not only the crazy concept of using objects like that, but also my favorite color combo blue and green. I can't believe you'd perceive that as ever being hate and anger! They're such bright, vibrant colors don't you think? It's pretty awesome how you messed both cups up, so to speak, to make such an abstract concept. It's GREAT. I LOVE IT!
I think, in your description for this picture, you should go further into detail about what this picture means to you, what the symbolisms mean to you. Cuz this is a deep picture.
Tell me if you ever do change your description and extend on it.

Did you light a sweep, use an infinity table, or?

I like this meaning much better than the old one!
To me it represents what I've always believed in that two should not become one because then that makes two halves. I think two wholes, still individuals...sometimes completely different from one another, intertwined is much more interesting...although it is inevitable that some slight loss of oneself will occur, it's not always a bad thing. But that's just my take on it.
At any rate, it's still a beautiful shot.

ok, i have a few questions for you, as usual lol.
First off, how did you manage to eliminate any reflections from the glass? Did you use a polarisation filter perhaps? Second I wanted to know what liquids you use for your images. Ive seen many colourful works of yours (this one and all others in this series are on your site correct?) but I always wonder what you use. is it water with something in it?
anyway, very well done. would also love to know how this represents love and affection....in what way I mean.

Davenit In reply to LenzFrenzy [2007-07-11 15:48:52 +0000 UTC]
The image is totally back lit hence no reflections since there's no direct lighting. Water with food coloring is my poison of choice for color liquids...
Thanks bro...

One of the things I've noticed on your conceptual pieces is the way you deal with colours. You tend to set it all up as to have an almost plain background, in order to convey all the colours or textures or attention to the most important parts of the picture... In this case, the water and the glasses...
Dave, this is great!
