Thanks. The dress area actually took longer than the head area. This is the first portrait that I'm happy with for the most part. Hoping to move on to watercolour portraits once I get better.

My portraits have gotten progressively better. Way better than anything I did last year. I've read that sticking with the same subject, and drawing them from different angles can help.

That's good idea to study one subject carefully and draw it from various angles.I should try it..or get more photos of the same person and use them as references for one work..my best portrait is portrait of my formar class-mate.I saw her every day for many hours for many years...I've never captured anybody better than her.

I prefer tmpera...I also have trouble with wattercolours...because I can't put light colours on dark ones

I have one portrait redy to submit but can't brough myself to do so
