Description Bryce Depth of Field effect - a 15 minute tutorial by David Brinnen

A Bryce 7.1 Pro tutorial aimed at people who have familiar with the basic operation of Bryce (as well as those who are moderately well versed in Bryce but have not yet used the premium effects) and wish to expand their skills. The tutorial covers the making of a simple scene (consisting of a several terrains and an object preset), modifying lighting and render options. It is moderately fast paced, because the aim was to cover both a bit of theory and the practical application of that theory in the fifteen minutes. Some additional text is included in the video, you may have to pause the video to read it.

Better viewed in HD - some of the controls in Bryce are quite fiddly and small.

How did you know my PC was powered with steam and gnomes?

I've never yet spoken to a render artist that didn't want a faster computer - or some way to speed up their renders. I've never yet heard one say, "oh you know... my computer, it's just too bloody fast, I wish I could find some way to slow it down a bit" - that just doesn't happen, particularly if you combine your computer with Bryce and switch on premium effects - no shortage of ways to slow down even the most nimble of machines. And then... failing that, there's always "Volumetric World" a feature so processor hungry and obscure, I don't think I've ever spoken to anyone who's completed a volumetric world render and their PC has lived to tell the tale. My longest render? 500 hours... Then there was a power cut. I was not happy.

Oh yes, I remember reading that before. I am going to make one of those in Blender shortly, with a much shorter render time I'm sure
