The Neanderthals were an extinct species of the Homo genus that lived between 600,000–350,000 years ago, the Neanderthals were resurrected in the year 2128 when the UEC deconstructed their bones to create a complete DNA strand for cloning. In the year 2132 after years of successive research the UEC successfully creates the first healthy Neanderthal clone, enthused by the results the Caliph orders more to be bred as slaves and canon fodder. After years of training and education the UEC domesticate Homo Neanderthals and find them useful labor in certain environments, large populations of Neanderthals are transported to Mars to assist in constructions while others are forced to serve in the UEC military, outfitting them with exoskeletons to increase their battle performance. Impressed on how Neanderthals could be so better than humans in battle, the RAU buys some Neanderthals from the UEC and begin outfitting them with their powered suits before unleashing them against the Interim. After few years the Neanderthal population exploded, some managed to get their freedom by either impressing their human superiors, buying their freedom or by escaping, when they enter human society and live in it, they are regarded as fellow variants at best and brutes at worst. Client races such as the Allerians (Merfolk) and Tumerazians (Wildfolk) have good relations with them, other client races such as the Aldar (Elves) look down on them as inferior while the Feldar (ipupiara) view and interact with them neutrally. In the present day many Neanderthals find their occupation in warfare and combat due to their purposeful revival as soldiers from humans, basically it gave rise to a traditional culture which they abide by and that's why many of them become mercenaries or bounty hunters when they discharged as soldiers. also just like Tumezarians, the construction industry is full of them too, which they find their suitability on if they can't make a living as a combatant.
