It says a lot about how cool and mysterious Mrs. Birch is that she can upstage Thomas and Sonny being adorable. That sudden appearance out of nowhere was just a neat little subtle gag to see that nicely takes advantage of the sequential art format.

Mrs. Birch is a cool character I'm always eager to do more with; I get the feeling she's the sort of character who's never going to show up THAT often, only brief snippits, but makes an impression when she does.

That said, Sonny being super-cute is always great to see too. And I like that for as mean as she can be, Dinah did appreciate watching her brother help someone having a panic attack.

Martin's Comments: This one's pretty fun I think, in large part for Mrs. Birch and just the back-and-forth going on with it. Do think kind of a needed moment for Dinah - she's in many ways a jerk but she's not heartless by any means. Though we do probably need to have a moment at some point of her and Thomas showing a bit more of the sweeter side of their relationship, not something that we've really got into much.

Actually might bare trying to do some quick side stories focused on various established Daylight characters soon; we haven't really done any Daylight story work since we finished up with the Brothers story (speaking of we should really post that last part to DA soon, kind of hard to find a convenient slot for it in the schedule). We have a lot of followup stuff to the first chapter we wrote up when initially planning it out, might bare working on adapting some of that into a story format or something, be a good way to get some extra Daylight content out and to flesh the characters out a bit more.
