I am not yet good at extreme foreshortening!

I did too much shading to try to show the idea of distance. Now the arm just looks overworked.

One day I will scan and fix this >

Indeed. I will learn.

For this one, I was more concerned about the arm in the back than the arm in the front. The front one 'feels' right to me, though I overworked it.

That's another thing -- with foreshortening (and pen), the shading is more than half the image.
