your etchings are sweet... I love linework and detail and you get the grade on all. The biomorphic shapes I am feeling as well. Nice work all around.. what level are you at in school? BFA? MFA?

thank you, sir!
i am working on my bfa. i do my senior thesis and body of work in the fall. i am stressing about it in a major way.
are you working on your bfa? or have you moved on to the next level of madness?

late in life I tossed my job of 20 years slaving for an airline and got my BFA in 2006 now find myself about to finish my first year of an MFA program. Madness is right. I did/do art for relaxation, fun, basically because I want to... NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN I have to have deep meaning and thought about my work... so I am going mad looking deep into my soul praying I find some meaning.... cuz if I dont I am F*@&ed! I quit my job, sold my house, and moved away to do this...Maddening indeed. BUT Grad school beats the hell out of undergrad. You get to teach (which I want to do) and you are treated pretty special. That said its great and doing art, talking art, thinking art all day is nice,,,

Are your prints part of your senior show?

awesome! i love to hear it when things work out for people. i don't think i'll ever get a chance to attend grad school, but i feel pretty fortunate to have been able to further my education as far as i have.
i will do my thesis body in print and perhaps drawing...i'll do it in the fall (i'm freaking out!!).

thank you!!
damn! edition of 30! you are amazing . how long did it take you?

theasianone In reply to deadanna [2008-04-15 08:29:55 +0000 UTC]

i dont know a few hours of actual work, cause couldn't help but take breaks every 10 or so. i did the first ten in about an hour but then after that production started slowing down, i think it took about 4 hours or so including breaks.

but nonetheless i wanted to die hahaha.

fantastic!! usually when i get around to the edition part, it's the night before critique and i am ALWAYS still etching (i'm so damn slow).
i'm sure that you wanted to die. i know that after all the proofing and my less than spectacular number of prints my arm gets to hurting something fierce. i'm sure that the arm you use to wipe your plates is unbelievably buff by now!
