Beautiful work, I really like the color palette you chose. I suppose you use Photoshop, right? One more question --if you don't mind. How many hours you spend in a page like this one? THX

Not a knock on Brooks or any of the other artists... but you so make this book. They should be paying you double.

Thanks a lot David, Tell Bogey and Axel that please . Going broke doing it, stupid me comes up with a new step inbetween coloring and pages takes twice as long to do. On the good side a lot people seem to really like it and I have fun with it. The first couple of issues with Opena I had to Ice my shoulder when I finished as I had not drawn that much in a while. Went back and did lots of Figuring drawing workshops to get back in shape.

AS to the other guys. I cannot do it without them. I can draw and paint good from a model but I cannot do what you guys do. Creating a world and haveing the actors act is just so tough. Working with Mark on this was great. He was super supportive as have been the rest. Very fortunate to work with all of them.

I really like how you and the other leading colorists are are embracing digital as an expressive artistic medium and not just a tool for graduated flats and color holds.

The greyscale/white line method is new to me, but I like the results.

Thanks Richard, means a lot. I think we are trying to make the color process really be a part of the art process. I know I have failed more than succeeded but keep trying.

The gray/white line was something new for me as well. I am sure others have done a lot similar but was not aware of them when I was doing it.

Looks pretty good. May I ask you the very stupid question who the girl is? Psylocke? X23?

Great work also with Mark!
You ever done the white render before Or depends on the type of page?

DeanWhite In reply to cOMIFAB [2011-06-03 19:18:26 +0000 UTC]

It started with UXF 1 as a way to color Jerome Opena and It has just continued on since it ends up giving UXF a look. But you have to really adjust it for each artist as you are drawing on top of someones work. Each artist draws in their unique way so you have to try to match that.
