Description About:alternate Version to dediggefedde.deviantart.com/ar… .
Shows you on other sites how many Notices, Deviations etc. you got in your current logged on Deviantart-Account.

I got a message, it may look better as a "sidebar", so it can shrink to a single image on the left. To still catch new Messages, the background will change to red when getting new Messages.


Features:--> Same as dediggefedde.deviantart.com/ar…
-->position in left bottom corner
-->color of whole bar will change with new messages
-->reduce to single Icon on the left


For the Configuration-Window, please right-click the Greasemonkey-Icon, choose "userscript commands" and "Configurate Devbar".


Preferences:--> Firefox
--> Greasemonkey-Addon: addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/…
[it may go well in other Browsers but it was optimized for Firefox]

Never mind last comment... it works! I had to get off DA to make it show. I'll be removing deviantAnywhere now

Well, you can remove the line
"// exclude         *.deviantart.*"
at the top.

I forbid it to show on dA as the top-bar already shows you. ^^

But I don't want to force you to use this instead of "anywhere".
Both are working fine as far as I know, so it's a matter of taste, I guess. ^^

I like the way yours "looks" compared to Anywhere. I always have it showing on DA since I'm rarely at the top of pages here
The only problem is the button/sidebar isn't changing color. I got your 2 new replies and the button stayed green.

I guess I found the problem.
Please update to get this problem fixed.
You will need to remove the "exclude" line again afterwards, though.

This one doesn't seem to work for me. I used the mirror link to install: phi.pf-control.de/userscripts/…
It did install but nothing is visible on the screen to indicate it's working or not. I hope I can get it going - looks great in your screenshot!

Well, I don't like/use facebook or Gmail and Facebook doesn't seem to like GM-Scripts... The gmail-api seems a bit too complicated, too...
So I don't think that I will expand the script with gmail or facebook-items until I find another proper GM-Script that provides these kind of connections...

Darn. I just thought it would be awesome to have something that linked to each one of my items. I use DA for my art, facebook for my family, and gmail for my job. I tried to understand the code you used with your side bar, but it was to complex for me.

Well, my family lives where I live so I don't need Internet to reach/talk to them^^

Why did you try to understand the code? do you know how to connect to facebook or gmail per javascript?
Well, the main-part is the aktualisieren()-function as it connects to difi (the dA-api to get the message-amounts)...
the rest of the script is about parsing the informations you get there and to design and insert the sidebar into pages or to connect to the server in a period of times...

However, Cross-Site-Reuqests are kind of difficult to use with a single javascript-script...
But I wrote a manual, how to use these scripts in Opera/Chrome/IE as well!
(But no guarantee it will work with using these steps^^)
