I drew this about a month ago when Mewtwo's new form was first revealed. I actually really like the new form and its design, and it's sad that it has been receiving a lot of hate.
Anyway, I mainly used this as shading practice, but I like how the pose came out overall. This form is easier for me to draw than the original Mewtwo, for some reason- probably because I can actually understand how its fingers work, haha.

Mewtwo is cool, but Rayquaza will always be my favorite Legendary, haha. Its mega forms are interesting, though.

I actually prefer regular Rayquaza to its shiny form, but I do love its shiny colors as well. I have two shiny Rayquazas of my own, but my first ever Rayquaza that I caught back in 2003 is my favorite.

This is one of the very few pictures that makes the new form look bad ass. This does the new form justice. Everything else I see makes Mewtwo look like a play doll.

I was really excited about this as soon as I saw it, I remember the battles over whether it was real or not and it was funny to me. After what was form vs Mewthree, and even though the idea of Mewthree is cool I'm still happy with the result. I read that it's supposed to be faster than Extremespeed Genesect, I wonder if this is going to be really shown in the stats in the game (Even though in the games Mewtwo is already a bit faster, so it might just be an anime only thing for the movie).
I think the hate for it is unjustified, there wasn't nearly this bad of a cry when evolutions were introduced in Gen IV. Maybe because it's Mewtwo and the fact many people still have that feeling that he's the best (despite the games changing that a while ago) so why change it? I don't understand exactly, but I appreciate what Game Freak is doing and I definitely plan to use this Mewtwo.

I was personally hoping for a new clone of Mew, but I'm happy with it being a new form, as well. What I personally find fascinating about the form is that I highly doubt the scientists who created Mewtwo meant for him to have another forms, which means Mewtwo created another form for himself to essentially amplify his powers. I think that's kind of incredible, and really shows that Mewtwo was designed for battle.
People can get angry when their nostalgia is messed with, so that's probably where a lot of the hate is coming from. I can understand it to a degree, but I still think the new form is cool.

That's what I was hoping too, but I didn't expect it because of how 'Mewthree' replaced Mewtwo in the picture. It was similar to Keldeo's form replaced Keldeo in his poster, and unless it was a form or evolution I couldn't see them just replacing Mewtwo in the poster.
I agree with your idea about the form too, even if it doesn't raise Mewtwo's base stats it proves that he really is a 'perfect Pokemon for battle' in a way because he can adjust himself for situations to ensure his victory in battle. It does make me worry a little that they may turn him into Deoxys form-wise but... I don't think they will.
I can understand that, but it's not just that because of how people reacted to the Gen IV evolutions and Sylveon compared to him. That's why I think it's more so because it's Mewtwo than just them messing with older Pokemon. Still, if Bulbapedia is right and they do retype some Pokemon again... I'm worried about how some people will react to it.

Great depiction. I'm not a big fan of the new form, but I don't have anything against it.
I will say that a lot of the "cute" deviations that have come out since then are not my taste at all since Mewtwo is depicted as such a...fighter if not monster in his own eyes. Great job here.
