Description Journal Entry:
"During my journey throughout the continent of Sanus, I have come to learn that it is not the mirage that a traveler must be wary of, rather, it is what lies beneath the sandy dunes that one must be truly careful of. IT may have been the glaring sun and the continuous walking that caused me to forget the cardinal rule of an observer, "Keep your eyes open."

"While walking the desert terrain, I noticed slight movements in the sandbank ahead of me which I initially dismissed to be sand being moved by the wind. Only when the movement started accelerating towards me that I realized my mistake. I managed to jump to the side at the last second just as the something leaped at me and ground exploded in a flurry of sand and dust. I came face to face with a creature of reptilian attributes. The creature measured somewhere between 6 to 7 meters in length with bony spines and plates covering the upper part of its body. It also sported 6 short but powerful looking limbs, two horns that pointed backwards and a bony chin shaped like a sharpened shovel. Thinking fast, I turned and ran as fast as I could towards a group of tall boulders in the distance. As I ran I stole a glance backwards to see the creature dig into the sand and give chase. The speed at which it traveled underground is quite ridiculously fast and I theorize that it used its multiple limbs and shovel shaped jaw which allows it to push through the sand with ease. Maybe it was the adrenaline that allowed me to run as fast as I could, but I managed to reach the gigantic boulders and with terrified haste  managed to reach the boulder top just as the creature leaped out of the ground in an effort to catch my foot. The creature circled around the boulder where I took refuge for a time spanning an hour or so which gave me some time to study its movement. In addition to its limbs and jaw, I digressed that it also uses its long tail as a sort of accelerant to propel it at such high speed from underneath the sands. Thankfully, the reach of its jump is limited as it could not reach my lofty perch. After an hour or so, the creature seemed to accept the fact that it could not reach me, and with one last hateful look and an equally hateful roar, it dove back into the ground and left me behind. As I am writing this, night has already descended and I am still perched in my safe place. I shall resume my travel by daybreak for I shan't risk travel at this time given my prior encounter."

"I have heard the locals of this place refer to this creatures as Grimms and that they come in all sorts of forms. I have decided to record these creatures should the opportunity present itself. I suppose that I should give them a name since I'm recording them and all. So I henceforth name my first ever grimm encountered as Salamander. And so I shall leave it at that for now as my eyes are becoming drowsy and rest calls to me. But before I do fall asleep, I cannot help but wonder at what terrifying and awesome sights this world has in store for me to see."
