If you're interested, you should submit this or something else to The Deviant Short Fiction Project. (Now titled Deviant Nightmares) Read about it in my journal at [link] and see if it's something you want to do.

This is amazing. You took "the author is dead" and...wow. I'm speechless at the moment.

Wow, thanks for the great comment! Writing this did kind of make me wish I was an artist. I got really fascinated with the relationship between art and the environment in which it's created.

Oh my! I hadn't realized you'd gotten a DD (a friend sent me a link to the story about the cats). I have to say I think it's well deserved. Your distopian future (or is it simply distopia?) makes me shudder inside.

This just gave me the chills. In the best way possible. It was so moving and crazy and... wow. All I can really say is that this DD is really something that you deserve.

This is amazing! I know it too, because it made me a bit afraid. How did you ever get an idea like that?! Absolutely brilliant.

Isn't it wonderful when that happens?! I hope you will run away with many more ideas in the future! Maybe soon I'll have time to do more writing too... XD

This is incredible. Just as the review said, I could hear a voice speaking this too me like a narrator in the opening of a movie. This is very powerful and touching. I am reminded of the many 'classics' I have read for english class and I must thank the author for sharing such a powerful idea.

Wow... XD Spooky stuff man. I think it's rather believable. Without people, and the outside world, art could take on a much different look and feel.

Thank you! If I was better at art, I'd experiment with the things they came up with...

This was pure brilliance! I began to read it, thinking it was nothing special and around the second or third paragraph you captivated me with the idea of artists being trapped away from the rest of society.

Wow, what a fantastic short story! It really makes me wish it were longer, just to get more of the background and such. It tells me just enough to make me want more! This will be the first piece of literature on DevArt that I'll have fave'd.

Amazing!
Your style is brilliant, and the story really made me think quite a bit about it.
I like how you showed the society's use of the concept Death of the Author. It's an intriguing concept, and a great expansion on the concept, Death of the Author.
It's interesting that you mentioned that it was impossible to enforce separation of the text from the experiences of the writer, since I tend to keep authors and their books, and artists and their art as separate in my own mind. The art or book is all I care about, and the author or artist is just the entity that happened to bring it into existence. Well, sometimes I do think about a story in the context of its author, or the art in the context of its artist, but only when I know the author or artist, or something like that. However, considering that I'm neurologically atypical, and that celebrity gossip, and art/writing analysis are common, yeah, it would be impossible for most people.
Also, I think I'm the type that might like living in a community where I can, and am supposed to do the thing that interests me all the time. I see why the artists and authors leaped at the chance.
Basically, amazing!

Thank you very much! I'm in favour of keeping artists and art separate as well. I don't find it impossible to enjoy someone's work even if they're a tool, but I have made the conscious decision not to give people money because I disagree with something about them. But that's what libraries and charity shops are for!
