I wanted to show how I work on my paintings. I'll give a brief summary of what I do in the description.1: Just a basic sketch
2: Base colors using the gradient tool
3: With a normal hard round brush I blocked in the colors
4: Using a hard round brush set to pressure sensitivity I blocked in the forms. (shadows, color variations, highlights, reflected light)
5: More refining. Added more details and form to the rocks and water. Added mosses and vegetation using a custom texture brush.
6: Finished the rocks and river. Refined shadows and lighting. Added spray using a textured brush. (actually, the same one I used for the foliage)
7: Using a textured brush I painted in the foliage.

Very cool. I've been working on doing landscapes and backgrounds a bit behind the scenes too. It's hard to break the habit of wanting to draw out every single detail and just trust that the eye will fool itself and imagine in the details.

That was one of the hardest part...I'm a perfectionist and I always mess around with the nit picky details way too much...it takes getting used to and a lot of discipline.
