Another L5R character portrait for a friend of his Kakita iajutsu specialist.This one was an experiment with Painter's Acrylic brushes.

I really like the sword pose that you have in the pic, which just radiates Japaneses sword technique. Also, the colour palette does complement itself very well.

You really know how to use complementary colors, don't you? I can really pick up the purple theme. He looks ready for action.

Colors are something I'm still experimenting with, actually. At the moment I'm testing out something I read somewhere about a common Japanese tactic being to pick two or three colors that are next to each other on the colour wheel (for example purple, blue, and green) and then using one colour that is complimentary to those (like orange to compliment the blue) to make things pop out.
But thanks for your kind words. It makes me feel like I'm getting somewhere with this experiment. ^_^
