Description
The Fool"I'm gonna be king of the pirates!" Monkey D. Luffy charges gleefully forward towards his future with the symbol of his dreams over one shoulder and the symbol of his aspirations held tight in the other. Luffy travels light, holds few preconcieved notions, and is prepared to face anything at a moment's notice. Behind him Chopper warns of the danger of walking forward too blindly. In the distance are portents of Luffy's future - his ship, carrying him from adventure to adventure, and a Sea King, just one of the hazards he may encounter along the way.
Meanings at a glance: A fresh start, stepping out into new paths, leaping without looking. Choices to make without enough information. Following instinct. New adventure ahead.

After learning so much from the last picture I did, I felt confident enough to start on a project I've had in mind for a long time. This is the first card in what will hopefully eventually be a full tarot deck - the Otaku Tarot.
The characters, of course, are Monkey D. Luffy and Chopper from "One Piece", which is a good show if you ignore the 4Kids dub. >_<
Luffy just seemed like such a perfect fit here...

Glad you like it! It was done completely in Photoshop, from the initial sketch to all the colouring. With lots of One Piece reference, of course.

Thanks! I'm planning (at least, at the moment) to have at least a couple other characters from One Piece featured in the Otaku Tarot. But I'm not saying just who or what cards yet.
