it appears to be taken from the middle of nowhere ... are you high above on land with a zoom lens ?

It gives the feeling of an enclosure that opens up into this vast, expansive, never-ending space. I like it. Very clean, crisp, and quietly elegant.
How do you do it?

It was mostly rhetorical. But, hmm, I always kinda' suspected that photographers take amazing shots more or less unconsciously. ^_^

Difficult to explain in English for me. I visualise the scene and framing before. For this shot you can't imagine there was hundred of people behind me, swimming, jump in water, with children, balloons, rubber boats, family, crying and shouting, with "crazy teenagers" asking me if I could take the girls naked right now. Maybe some "power" is to see this window from another world in our, which is real. I have several stories like this on pictures, takin only a part of what I see, even with a 16mm and a very wide angle, there always dreaming places to shot. As I always say, "watch differently"...

You can mix in some French if you need. I can muddle through reading French.
Hmm, "watch differently" I like that. And it does make a lot of sense that artists just see the world in a different way.
Thanks for the explanation!

wonderfully simplistic. I love the light circle you've introduced too.

I don't know, these kind of photographs are getting quite boring after some while as many of them look very much alike...
And the vignetting here is absolutely overdone, don't see how it should improve the photograph in any way. Just looks like an attempt to make it look more interesting.

So simple and lovely. I think people can forget sometimes (myself included) that clean lines, strong composition and an uncluttered scene can provide strong and impactful imagery. This is a beautiful example of that. It makes me want to have it large in my home so I can meditate in front of it. Nice work!
