Things that happens when you try to impress a girl. No matter how you look at it, that's one sharp arrow! Probably why the daddy troll is so upset. It could've really hurt someone! Not him of course, he's tough as rock! ...as a rock with an arrow in it...but still solid! The little archer's mum is not impressed.
An older drawing that I decided to scan and edit a bit.

Troll's regenerate really fast, so that's not the problem here... More like the young boy tried impress the girl (by her face, not whitout some succes), and that caused the anger of the grown up troll.

Trolls are so cute when they're young. I guess their horns and teeth grow in at puberty. I can imagine the accident, young boy and girl go hunting goats, sees a horn sticking out behind a sunny rock where papa troll is taking a nap. Arrow flys when they see it move but it's suck in his horn. They try to get it back before he wakes up but can't move it and the boy doesn't want to break his arrow. They try everything but only succeed in rousing the girls father who is groggy, until he stretches and finds something sticking out of his favourite horn! Then hilarity ensues ...
