The first thing that ever really got me interested in art was show The Joy of Painting on PBS hosted by Bob Ross.  Each show, he would produce a rather fantastic looking landscape in under thirty minutes.  And, of course, all his mountains, trees, and streams were "Happy". His paintings did tend towards a similar design though:  A blue sky with happy clouds, a majestic snowy mountain, tree covered hills in the midground, then a lighter sprinkling of trees in the foreground, and there was usually a pond or river.

So I've been practicing a new technique for mountains, and decided to create a Bob Ross inspired scene while doing so.  I skipped the clouds though as I through the clear blue sky made the mountain stand out better.

Thanks for looking!
Daniel Eskridge

It may be some kind of... "Murdoch effect" but the erosion makes the mountain look somewhat intimidating

That being said, the energy and the living colors are splendid and reflect so well Bob Ross's style.

Gorgeous

Yes Bob Ross and his happy clouds, happy river, happy mountains. I used to watch that show, then run off and attempt to paint some happy scene. Mine always looked sad but certainly it was inspiring to watch as a youngster.
Excellent render. Very nice mountain and mist rising up from the happy lake.

Those are some seriously pointy rocks.  Maybe the same kind of stuff my island is made of.  So don't climb unless you don't mind being ripped to shreds?

All one layer in the render, but in post I broke it into multiple layers using the Z-Depth map.

Wow..  That's an intimidating mountain.  I'm betting by moonlight, this valley looks a lot less "happy" and much more terrifying thanks to "the trolls and werewolves that live on the mountain which will crawl down the icy crags and eat us".
