Description My first moose image. I added to squirrel for just a bit of fun afterwords.

The forest animals were posed in poser then imported into Vue 8 where the rest of the scene was constructed. The final render was done in Vue.

Oh wow.. That is incredible! Your squirrel has a lot more hair than mine. I can't really afford to spend more money right now.. except the little bit more I'll probably have vacuumed out of my wallet during this month's daz pa sale. I absolutely love that moose, though.. I might have to rethink..

Very cute image! I really like the texture of the tree in the foreground. I also like the overall look of the image, I'm not sure what it is but it's different, a painterly feel. I like it.

Those are greta models, since they actually have fur (animals in Vue renders often look fake this close because the fur is just texture-mapped on ) But it's very realistic, and the title makes me think of Rocky and Bullwinkle

Actually the models really did just have the fur as a texture map. I spruced up the fur post render in gimp using a set of fur brushes. I did once try rendering a werewolf that actually included modeled fur. After 5 days, it was still only 3% done...and that was with a reasonably strong system.

Oh, good postwork then and wow! The longest I've had to wait for a full-sized render of a whole scene was 3 days and that was on what is now considered to be a pretty crappy computer for Vue scenes...There's been plenty of others that could have taken longer but usually if it takes hours to just do 1% I reluctantly abort it and settle for a smaller, lower quality render. Since I hope to never wait more than 3 days for anything again

Thanks! Yes, I did the edges of the fur using a fur brush (10 or so randomly scattered dots) in Gimp with the smudge tool.
