Thank you! I'm Scrooge-y about too much gift-giving and the commercial aspects of Xmas, but I like some other parts of it very much. But shopping and spending money just because it's Xmas is a dumb idea for us (a great idea for the merchants, however).

Yes, I think my years in retail have ruined it for me. Don't know about other countries but most Americans have really lost sight of what this holiday should be.

I can see how your experience would taint your attitudes toward Christmas! Oy! You've seen the whites of the enemies' eyes!

Thank you, thank you for the critique and fave. This was a fun thing to do; in fact, I did several, but didn't post them all!

Thank you so very much! I'm glad you like my decorations; lately I've been messing around with vector art, and that's what these objects are. I love MsKitty's fractal, though, which looks exactly like a wreath. It was fun to decorate!

Thank you so much! I went a little heavy on the decorations, but what the heck! It's Christmas.

Thank you, Jenn. These are such fun things to do; I wish I could do a little nicer job on them, but I keep trying. I made a bunch of picture tubes in PSP 7, featuring roses and Christmas objects. Maybe I'll do a wreath featuring those!

Thank you! I did have fun, Nance. I did several others, too; they seemed to be way too busy, too much stuff on them, so I chose this one. Of course, this has a lot of stuff on it, too.

There are some families that just don't seem to go in for Christmas decorations, and I think that's too bad. Maybe that's why you love them so much now. We are NEVER too old to have fun at Christmas! Whenever I decorate the tree, I think of my mom; she used to have certain rules when she and I hung all the ornaments: no "throwing" icicles on the branches (those tin foil thingies); each one had to be hung individually and look like an icicle would; no "angel hair"; no messy ornaments that were cracked or marred, no spray snow or soap foam made to look like snow. The light string went on first, then the tinsel garland, and the glass ornaments went on last. The trees were kind of puny back then, but the deco's looked really good!

My mother and I were very close indeed--not the case with Dad, though. She and I shared the same soul, I think.

Lori, anyone can break a leg or worse in icy weather. I think if you can find a crust of snow, that's your best bet, or worst case, strap on those ice cleats on your shoes. When our sidewalk get icy, I sprinkle salt just ahead of where I'm going to walk; it starts melting right away, and that gives me a little footing. It's a pain to have to do that, but falling down and busting my head would be more painful! I'm more afraid of falling nowadays than I used to be; I even put a mat in the bathtub. Lots of soaps (liquids especially) make a slick film on the bottom, and I almost slipped the other day!

The salt bag is too heavy for me, too. I usually take a few scoops and put it in a smaller bucket; I can manage better that way. We keep everything in those 40-lb kitty litter plastic pails. They are wonderfully handy to have around!

We're gonna get it this weekend, maybe, so I'll have to bring up the salt and cat litter!
