Description Multi-layered fractal, using UF4. Makes me think of shell jewelry I've seen for sale down at the beach.

Thank you so much, Anj. Just now I tried to access your journal, but for some strange reason, I can't. First, it was jiggling around on the page, so I couldn't scroll up or down without losing the image I clicked on. Then, the scroll page disappeared entirely! Maybe my browser is so old it has trouble handling the CSS journals. Yours is not the only one I've had problems with! But I do appreciate your kindness and generosity!

Hi, Jean,

Hmmm... do you use IE? I know I have that problem with journals when I am using IE.. But you ARE there!
Hugs,
Anj

Yes, I sure do use IE! It's pretty old, too.

That's probably the problem then. I use IE when I go into RATF to do stuff there and I have that problem sometimes with the CSS. Sigh... stupid IE. And mine in the latest version! I soooo prefer Firefox.

Anj

Omg, this looks complicated. Beautiful. Love the colours. And I would like to have a jewelry looking like this

desmo100 In reply to MorticiaAdams [2007-02-05 14:29:57 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I would like to have these myself. This fractal was a multi-layered image, with lots of masks, so I was able to shape things the way I wanted to.

I am downloading UF4. Not that I will do anything like this. It's great, and I like the fact that it's symmetrical in shape but not in color terms.

Good luck with UF4...I hope you can have some fun with it. What color(s) don't you like? Yellow? I don't usually use yellow too much, but it seemed to work best for these "ornaments."

Thank you very much. Now that I've figured how to use masks (sort of), I never created a layered fractal with out them. I never realized you could do so much with such a simple technique.

Thank you very much, Sophie. Part of this is the "Jungle Blossoms" fractal; I just put a different layer and mask over it, and got these "shell" effects. I was so amazed at how that turned out, because so many of my experiments are "dogs."

make any 'dogs'!! You always come up with something
innovative and unusual!! You're most welcome, pal!!!

desmo100 In reply to LoriVintage55 [2007-01-28 20:54:22 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, Lori. Jewelry making takes a long, long time. I took a jewelry class years ago; we learned to cut cabochons out of semi-precious stones and work with silver. Just cutting/polishing one stone took a couple of hours. Silverwork was even more difficult. Jewelry makers have my complete respect and admiration!

Thanks! I just play around and experiment. To a certain extent, I can maneuver shapes to look like something I want, but I'm not at a skill level to get it exactly right. I'm trying, though!
