Thank you very much. Frogs are a little shy, but when they decide to trust you a little, these comical expressions come out. Glad you like it.

Oh, this one's very nice, too. He looks like he's preparing a long speech . Great sharpness and a very nice view on his feet. Isn't it fascinating, how different his "hands" and "feet" are?

Wonderful, vivid yellow!!! Yellow speckled frog, yellow speckled pad. Unique and beautiful, and so well coordinated. I love the expression you captured. He's all ... "Don't come any closer, lady. This pad is armed!" The water is so clear. It's really interesting to see his little fingers and the webbings all spread out between his toes. Lake Burke?

One o'clock in the afternoon must have been really hot and muggy. Ick! But these frogs are so worth it. I would love to have prints of your frogs, Jean!!!

Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment, Val. I was visiting Greensprings Farm Park in Fairfax County (rt. 236 and Braddock Road). I used to play there when I was a kid (50 years ago!), and the abandoned old mansion has been converted into a park and horticultural center for all to see. And it's free! The pond is behind the old mansion and next to the creek. It's wonderful for aquatic life. The weather here is just awful, but there are so many critters that love it. I just have to keep going so I can get pix of them.

Thank you! Now I know where Jim Henson got his ideas from, when designing Kermit. They really do look like him!

I guess it's whatever one gets used to. I used to play with them as a kid, so I'm very fond of them. I was overjoyed to find so many of those critters...it has been a long time since I've seen them.

I'm pleased you're enjoying them - and getting such great pics - but I'll be very happy for you to keep them on your side of the Atlantic

THanks. THey all have such funny expressions on their faces! The guy who designed Kermit (Jim Henson, I think) knew his frogs, all right.

I just watched a documentary on him the other day! He pioneered the idea of using actual puppeteers in digital animation, to control movements and speech etc, it was interesting stuff

Isn't he a cocky one? I love those little faces. They were eyeing me for a long time, without moving at all. I guess they were curious, but wanted to make sure I didn't spot them. But I've got eagle eyes when it comes to frogs.

Thank you so much! I went back to the same pond where I got the other frog pics a few weeks ago. I didn't think there would be any, but the pond was lousy with frogs! I was overjoyed.

Thanks. I was going to try and clean up the color a bit, but I thought it looked OK yellow. That's what color they were in the pond, so why not? In fact, there were a lot of yellow leaves. I guess they're dying or something.
