Thank you very much! I went "frog hunting" with my camera, even though I had originaly intended to go "butterfly hunting". Ponds full of frogs aren't too common around here, so I was very lucky to have found it. It takes a lot of patience to wait for the frogs to come back out, after they've all jumped in when they heard you coming. A few brave souls sat on the lily pads after awhile, so I photographed them.

Thank you! Frogs are hard to capture, because they are SO shy! I had to wait quietly near the pond until they decided to come out of the water and sit on lily pads.

Thank you. These fellas were so cute on their lily pads. I must have taken hundreds of pictures, and a few of them turned out pretty good. Glad you like this one!

Thanks, Thelma. I do, too. I thank God that we still have frogs living in our crowded suburbs. Frogs take a beating when it comes to environmental degradation, so I was very amazed that I was able to find any at all. It was the most wonderful surprise when I first saw them!

Your bro has a lot of patience, and you sure need that in abundance when photographing nature. You also have to be able to put up with some awful weather. I'll bet he could tell you some stories about bad weather conditions! I'm glad he's got a job in the field, though; that sounds pretty wonderful.

Sounds like fun, though! I know there's some danger involved, but there's lots of excitement during a storm. The only thing I really fear is lightning, and I won't go out in it.

Thanks! I happened to capture three at once...I don't think I'll ever be that lucky again!

Thank you so much! There are always a few froggies that won't dive into the pond when I come creeping along....these fellows were about 10 feet from shore when I came by. I tried to line them all up, hoping to get them in the same focal plane, but couldn't do it; that's why one of them is a bit blurry. But it was still worth it to capture all three of the little green dudes in one shot. I will miss them this fall and winter, but I look forward to seeing them again next spring, along with zillions of babies!

Thank you. Those little green guys take a good picture, I think. I'll miss seeing them during the cold months, but I know they'll be back next spring!

Thank you so much. Before I discovered the pond (which is on the grounds of a historic estate and horticultural teaching institution), I thought frogs had disappeared from our area altogether. We live in a densely populated suburban area, and wild nature has been pushed out, in many cases. This pond has been on the grounds of Greensprings Farm Park for ages, but I never knew about the frogs until I just happened to be there one spring day and saw them all jump in! That was the best discovery I've ever made!

Yes, you're very right about that. It was truly a wonderful gift from heaven, knowing that some frogs were alive, well, and even thriving--reasonably close to my crowded home area. I miss hearing them sing at night because we don't have wetlands that close by, but as long as I know I can take a short ride and visit the little green guys, I feel a lot better about life.

I hope they'll be there and in good form. I guess they will have gotten enough sleep, burrowed in the mud for several months!

In a secret confrence they have decided to keep a close watch for the lovely lady that comes to take pictures of them, so they can spread the word and pose prettily

Awww, that's so sweet, Nance! I do hope that's what they think. I guess by now they know I'm not going to eat them, the way some birds do. These little fellas are so cute, I can't get enough of them, but I'll have to call it quits for the year. Next spring, I'll visit them and their babies.

Thank you, Jenn. I sure am going to miss these fellas. Their season is about done now, and soon they'll be burrowing into mud at the bottom of the pond. But next spring, I'll be ready and waiting with my trusty camera!
