Thank you for the nice comment. I rarely see skinks around my area any more. Don't know if that's because there aren't any, or that they're so hard to see because of their secret natures!

Heheh, It's odd that they'd be hard to find with such bright pretty tails XD

I think they are very shy and hide inside rocks and tree trunks. I saw a brilliant blue skink up in the mountains of Tennessee (Cumberland Gap) years ago. He was turquoise, green, blue...irridescent almost.

I don't know...guess they're like frogs and need a good habitat to support them. They no doubt would not thrive in suburbs. I found this one deep in the woods of a park!

I'll be there are lots around here, too; it's just that I've never seen them...they are tiny critters and move fast!

I kind of figured they were the kinds of lizards that can lose their tails and then regenerate them!

Thank you. He was a slippery fellow, and didn't stay around very long before he disappeared inside a hole in the tree!

I had not seen a skink (lizard) in about 20 years. I didn't think I would ever see one again. But I saw this one, and thought that was a very lucky find!!

Thank you, Lori. I saw one in Tennessee years and years ago, but it was the first and last time, until a few days ago!

Thank you! He was tough to get because it was dark on that side of the tree, and he was quite skittish. Several shots were required!

Thank you. I was amazed that he had yellow strips on his body that became blue on his tail! What an odd fellow. That was so neat to see this little tiny guy.
