i'm big on grammar.
really. i am.
lately, i just can't help writing "i" instead of "I", or capitalizing the start of my sentences.
i'm sorry. i'm too lazy. D:

When I correct spelling, I take extra care to amke sure I'm spelling everything right.
Yes, everyone. That is on purpose.

You just proved the secret tellers point..
You understood the secret so why say that.
Leaving a comment like that isnt going to help the person is it.
If you leave a comment leave a comment about the secret its self. Not about how something is or isnt spelt.

Only a stupid person would do that. Why would someone in their right mind want to belittle themselves. Thats just strange.

I just have to say... I don't really mind typos OR misspellings. I type the way I talk. So if I type mah or meh or ish or dun. It's because that's how I actually pronounce them in real life.
I dun get why people are so big about grammar and spellings tho...it seems so frivolous.
jus cuz i can. i luv kittehs *meow*

What would happen if we applied this same theory to say, math.
I'd be pretty pissed if someone gave me the wrong change at the register because "that's how they do math", or because "I'm not at school."
The point of school is to ready people for life. To go out into life and not use what you've been taught is quite bassackwards.

am I the only person who REALLY doesn't understand that last phrase?
not just for this secret, but ever.
"people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."
I really don't get it, I never have. could someone explain?

Kwonage In reply to GreenFaerie13 [2009-03-25 21:53:29 +0000 UTC]
In context that makes sense, it'd be that people shouldn't be hypocritical. They shouldn't point out flaws in other people when they themselves do the same thing.
I understand how you wouldn't understand it in the context of this secret because I don't either.

I now understand the phrase, but I still don't think it fits in to the secret too well. -shrug- oh well ^.^

To throw a stone is to judge someone. Being in a glass house, if someone threw a stone at you, the house would break or crack or whatever; living in the glass house represents you being similar to the person you're judging.
In this case, people with poor spelling/grammar should not critique or judge someone else for spelling/grammar errors. Does that make sense?

I don't think wanting things to be spelled correctly is so awful. I avoid saying anything about it on secrets because of the very nature of it and because I'm not the best speller I can ignore a few mistakes but if something takes more effort than it should to read then I'm likely to call the person on it but that's usually more in the forums than anywhere else.
For the record, I always capitalize I when it's needed to be unless I make a typo or I am being lazy in an instant message so I'm not really a hypocrite.

Everyone typos. Everyone makes spelling mistakes.
That ISN'T why we send in our secrets.
People who solely comment on a secret to rip into someone for misspelling is stupid and heartless.
Who wants to be sweating about whether their spelling is going to be ripped into, when they're putting something they've kept a secret for however long, out into the open?
I agree that misspellings are irritating, and I've likely mentioned it on someone's secret, but never as my reason for commenting. If your soul reason for commenting on a secret is to laugh at or attack someone for misspelling?
FUCK OFF, the DAS community doesn't need you.
