I've been wondering this for so long. Things like, if I died, who would come to my funeral? Would they cry? Would they announce it to the world, or just think about it at night? What would happen if I just disappeared? Would they give away my locker, my books? Would someone figure out my password and tell all my friends on line what happened to me, or would they sit forever waiting for a reply that never comes?
A kid in my school died in an accident last year. Sometimes I'm happy for his friends because they are strong enough to go on with their lives like he would have wanted. Other times, I find it strange how they can just lose someone like that and not be a wreck. And then I just feel guilty...

Truthfully, it is a natural human tendance to question our worth and how we have impacted the people around us. I actually have the same thoughs from time to time, nothing to worry about.

For awhile, ages ago I used to wonder the same thing, but as friends became closer to me (especially my girlfriend) I realised that I would be missed and she's made me feel purposeful in life and now I try and take pride in everything I do. Hang in there ST, it will get better.

Each action causes a reaction.
If birds were to suddenly disappear from the ecosystem, the entire ecosystem would collapse.
So, if you disappeared, whether it be from death or going away, it will make an impact on those who know you, on those who are often acquainted with you, on the plants, animals, your room, your house, apartment, flat, your clothes, your papers, your electricity bills, your country.
Each person matters in this world. For each person makes up the world. If gradually, we were all to disappear, our world would change so greatly.
So if you were to disappear, someone would notice and someone would care.
We don't know who you are.
But we would notice.
One less person is one less secret.
One less secret is one less comment.
One less comment, and the world becomes curious.

A boy I went to school with 6 years ago, that I wasn't even that close with, got beaten to death about a month ago. I was upset for a while after that because it actually affected me, even though we hardly ever spoke and HADN'T spoken in 6 years. It'll be his 18th birthday tomorrow.
Even people you hardly know will notice, they'll be affected, they'll care.

Something that worries me is I have one set of friends who have no contact with anyone else I know - they'd never know what happened.

That actually happened to me.
My plane landed in the middle of a foreign country, my credit card couldn't be accepted, i was almost broke, there's not a greek embassy in that country and I didn't have any way to inform my family and friends.
After one day they've reach me out of nowhere!
The first one who noticed was my best friend tho and not my family.. ://
