You need to talk to them about it, ST. My fiance used to make a lot of the same jokes plus some, but he did it because he was used to having very tomboy-ish rough-n-tumble girlfriends and friends who always joke that way. If they joke that way with everyone, you need to have a serious talk with them about how it makes YOU feel. If it's only you getting these kinds of jokes, then I think you may need to look into finding someone else unless you think talking would help there too.

My mother put up with it from my father for YEARS, and they recently split because she couldn't take the hurt of simple jokes (and other issues, but the jokes REALLY didn't help).
Honestly, if he/she is jokeing and dont mean to hurt you in all hoensty, they will understand if you tell them you're feeling hurt by their comments and will do their best to stop... if not. :/ Well, then they're just shallow. I know it may be hard to stand up for yourself because you're afraid to upset the ones you love, but you're worth it! Trust me!

My boyfriend and I jokingly pick on each other all the time. I used to call him "fatty" as a little pet name. He really isn't fat at all, so I didn't think it would bother him. But one day he told me it did and so I stopped. I feel really bad about being so insensitive, but sometimes it's hard to know where to draw the line, because some joking can be okay. Anyway, just talk to them and if they still don't listen to you, then they are just a jerk.
