Considering they've FINALLY animated JoJo's final part (and after much soul-searching, my favorite along with the very first one...), I guess I'll talk about the great Captain Obvious himself and greatest friend of the Joestar bloodline.
Once traveller (seriously, he mentions it in Part 1), ex-thug, hypeman, smeller of true human nature, uncle, billionaire, philanthropist , our man of the hour has been dubbed the greatest force of good due to his foundation's importance and aid through all 6 parts. See, Captain Obvious tendencies aside, Speedwagon was touched by Jonathan's strength of character, resolve and even unashamed candor. And after witnessing how much of an utter douche Dio was (prevampire and as a vampire... you may agree or disagree with the whole "born evil", I don't agree. I however do know that Dio fucking chose to be a colossal evil prick...), he stuck with JoJo through thick and thin, even persisting to see him despite a hard-staring nurse's objection. BUT when he discovered the truth about said nurse, he knew Jojo needed some alone time and withdrew coolly.
I'm kinda bummed the anime did not show his cool steampunk car and how he was smashing zombies with his sledgehammer.
Sure, in shonenesque terms he ain't much , but far as yours truly is concerned, Part 1 is less a shonen than it actually is a gothic horror tragedy.
It depicts a world that is gloomy, bleak, ruthless and horrific, which is why seeing people like Jojo, Erina, Speedwagon and Zeppeli having some basic sense of decency, honor and kindness to them was damn awesome. And they were like that despite all the woes (and how) that life threw at them...

I disagree with the epilogue BTW. Speedwagon died without a family ? Bullshit ! His family was the Joestars all along...
