Description Not only did we get some killer swan shots, we got to watch this fox run across 1/4 mile of frozen river, scare the heck out of these geese. 5 Min. later he ran back across the ice and all the way back a young eagle was fly right above him about 30 ft. up. Man could that fox run. What fun to watch. This is shot with a 300mm and a long ways off right into the sun and a large crop, but a great memory aid.

Wonderful shot Don, It's moments like these that make being out in the wilds shooting pictures such an adventure.. you just never know what will happen or come across your view finder. I get such a kick out of happenings like this!

geo. me too... left the 400 and 1.4x in the car, cause the
swans were so close the 70-300 was plenty of lens.. then this
happens and I sure wished I had at least the 400 on.

It was fun, like 150 to 200 yds away, even the 300 on
my 7D didn't get very close, so this is alarge crop ..
and I was shooting into the sun. Always a challenge.

mmm...but you got a great result..
I only have a 200 to my Canon and wish that I some day can get a 1,4 teleconverter to that...I think it's muck cheaper than a bigger zoom...I still have not learned all that technical..
