Description This is my contest entry for: [link]
I grew up near the border to Germany. Form my early days on, Germany was the fascinating realm from where all enchantment, grandeur and mysteries came. Our elementary school teacher told us tales from the Black Forest. Learning about WW2 was not easy, for it shattered the image of good I had from the country. Still my passion went on. I soon loved to draw German Soldiers and got heavily interested in German cavalry. Germans and Horses ! They get together so well !
The above pic is out from "The ballad of John and Aldo" an adventure which will also takes place in Germany. An alternate World one of course, but still with all the ingredients that, to me, makes the core of what German Imagery is.

That Germans were blood thirsty warmongers was WW1 propaganda created by the French and British at the time. The two nations which have each started more wars than most other nations in Europe. Germans have generally been peaceful and hard working.

Ah... I enjoy your horse drawings so much!
The background is especially enchanting. The colours you used create somewhat chilly autumnal atmosphere.
The trees and their branches are beautifully done.

Drawing horses is really tricky.
I once had a really demanding and selective art teacher and she told our class that if someone can draw horse anatomy correctly they can proudly say they can draw.
She basically meant that you need to know a lot about how horse is put together to be able to draw it believably and realistically.
For example the complex placement of muscles and the legs make a horse a challenging subject to draw.
Therefore you've got some great great skills!

Actually I am not too happy with the background; Indeed, I wanted to make a chilly, late-autumn atmosphere that will dominate thew whole story, but the result doesn't match what I have in mind. Of course, drawing horses require a good knowledge of their anatomy, especially when you haveto draw themin various positions such as required in a comic or graphic novel. But all other things require that knowledge too, such as human anatomy, perspective.

Wow, this is amazingly well done, but it could've been done better if the troop had a Stormtrooper outfit on. Don't get me wrong, I still love it, I just think the landscape would fit more with it like that.
