Ok if anyone can think of a better name that this please let me know! As youve probably noticed I dont pait dragons very much hence I dont have a clue what youre supposed to name them!I have a large commission at the moment for a black dragon so im getting in some practice and experimenting with lizardy features.
This is all in black indian ink with a brush and was painted a few minutes ago.

I really like your dragons, they remind me of the little pictures provided in "The Hobbit" I think you could name the dragon Smaug, since the dragon looks like Smaug from the Hobbit. 5/5!

Here's 2 names I know...
Tiamat, if it's a girl... this means the dragon Goddess who keeps/protects the Earth, or maybe gave birth to it? ...Or Fafnir, if it's a boy... this is a dragon's name who guarded a jewel...
Other than that, though... you are a MASTER of india ink! The washes... the swirls... my gawd, everything = beautiful here!

here are a couple of names to consider Katsune, Stryder, Obsidian, Solus, and Tetsu... just names that came to mind hope they help

why won't you call it after zelda's dragon volvagia ? i think that is a great name, for a non excisting name...Β¨*thinks deeply* i have no clue >_> but this is really great o_O i wish i could handle indian ink like that ^^_^^

Thanks, glad you like him! ive only ever played Zelda once, that was on the SNES and it totally confused me! lol but then im crap at computer games anyway, its a cool name though, im writing everyones suggestions down to use as names for future dragon drawings!

hmmm...tribal flame, maybe? Indian ink is amazing - so versatile doing very fine lines to broad splotches. The picture would look really cool with a wide black border.

Well Ill leave that up to whoever buys it and frames it! I love indian ink, its one of my favourite mediums, people dont seem to appreciate it that much, people seem to think if there isnt loads of color on a picture then not as much work has gone into it.

i looked at pictures of lizards and things for the face shape and horses too, it really helps loads to have something to base it on from real life.

Hehe, yeah, I guess it is quite Russian. Probably though of it because I've been listening to so much Russian music recently, for some reason.
If you like I could make a big list of names and you can just pick and choose, mix and match starts and ends or whatever... I dunno. Making names for characters and creatures is something I've done for aaaaaaages (due to playing fantasy role playing games a fair bit), and, being somewhat of a perfectionist, it takes me ages to be satisfied with them

I made a big long list of names for human characters/vampires/fairies a while back but most of them dont fit for dragons somehow to my mind, so if you have lots of good names id love to hear them, no rush though, you could email them to me if you like?
