UPDATE!!!There's this guy going by the handle "Yondy" who is writing a fanfiction about "My Little Mages" and posting it on fimfiction.net entitled "Tales of Mystika: A My Little Mages Book" . And it is bloody brilliant. Especially chapter 2. Go check it out and show him some support.
Some of you might not know, but in the Brony community, I am fairly well known for drawing a series of images called "My Little Mages". Which are characters from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic re-imagined as humanized fantasy characters. Each character given a magical class title that reflects their personality.
I originally only posted them to ponibooru, but a few people on DA requested that I start posing them here. Well, instead of uploading every single image to DA, I decided to put them all together in this one image. Regarding Discord, I feel like the "horn and antler" part of his hair should be made black as well. Just so that it contrasts with his white eyebrows and beard.

Sorry for the delayed response, this post just got lost in the shuffle.
According to some fanfiction writers and stuff I'm just making up as I type this, the Muffinmancer is essentially an alchemist (a'la Full Metal Alchemist style) only exclusively dealing with muffins as a source material. So Derpy can create objects and affects using the equivalent exchange worth of muffins.
The Great and Powerful Trixie's lack of a focus gem is due to the fact that I drew her design before I established the continuity that all magicborn have focus gems. Maybe it could be because her magic is illusions and not "real magic" would explain why she doesn't wear one.
I never thought about what the equivalent of Crystal Ponies would be. Mostly because they are so underused in the show and they don't really seem to have any ability difference from regular earth ponies aside from their appearance.

I think she would be OP if she could turn things into muffins.
I think it would be better if it mirrored the show's story line where Starlight begins to teach her real magic on the side. Before hand, Trixie didn't understand the purpose of focus gems nor how to use one. Starlight would give her one which would be affixed to a ribbon around her hat.
I wouldn't go for elementals because that would imply special elemental abilities and transformation. I'll probably hold off on those until the show gives us more about them.

Most come from D&D. I know very little about D&D actually, but it doesn't take much to search through the various wikis on character classes to land on something that fits. Others come from whatever sources I can get my hands on. Mostly video games such as WoW, Dragon Age, Guild Wars, etc.

Pretty damn cool. You even managed to work a horn into the princess' tiaras without making it look silly (although Twilight does look a bit like a triceratops there).
