I know, I always overlook the fact that Gannicus is a dimachaerus - a class which technically hadn't been invented in the time of Spartacus, same with the retiarius class which also features in the show - because I think Gannicus' character makes up for that little faux pas

He is also Celtic, which endears him to me all the more.

I also recall the ececution team having Mycter the Samnite and 2 other unidentified gladiators, 1 Retiarius and 1 Secutor.
