He walks the shadows, no one knows his real name, but often hushed whispers carry the title "Akuma" - the Demon himself.
He keeps the nine chains bound to his waist (and uses them to disarm and confuse his enemies with his whirling style) symbolizing the spirit realms he is bound to. His sword has a handle of darkest obsidian and a blade that is blackened to a deep purple even in the midday sun. As he walks, small plants die in his wake, and his robes were once pure white (the color of death), but now are stained and dirty.
The grim mask is stark white, concealing most of his face. His eyes emit a glow from behind the mask, hinting of the monster within.
But is the man a masked monster - or is the monster a mask on a man? Centuries ago a spirit was bound to the mortal realm and trapped within a primitive skull mask. It found a host a few decades ago and since then has used the formerly honorable samurai to exact his revenge.
Could this be that mask of legend, or a homicidal vagrant with a flair for the dramatic? The ends don't so much matter, the ends usually involve bloodshed and mourning at the hands of the one they call Akuma.
