Description The image depicted here is a photography by a specially made MONARCH drone deployed in 2015, both to test the endurance of flying objects within Skull Island’s storm system and to photograph various areas of Skull Island. Though it managed to weather the storm, the drone was eventually brought down over Skull Island’s plains by a psychovulture flock, but was retrieved by Iwi huntsmen who handed it over to the crew of the Seahawk, who were able to retrieve several photographs. This one was taken by the drone as it neared Skull Island itself, and is of the location known as Helstrom’s Grave, believed to be the area where Nils Helstrom’s boat was scuppered and destroyed (though now that boat is long gone, having been mashed and decayed into one of the many pieces of ship, plane and other such vehicles that litter Skull Island’s coastline). This fantastic image has successfully included at least a reference to all of the various methods Skull Island has of keeping outsiders out: the drone is clearly just leaving the massive storm system of which Skull Island is within the eye of, which smashes apart many ships and causes areas of impenetrable fog to circle the island’s coast, massive rocks emerging from the sea can be seen which many ships end up scuppered and destroyed on, a juvenile daiumihebi (already battered and scarred thanks to its savage life) representing the various monsters lurking in Skull Island’s seas can be seen lurking in the waters and a chunk of Oodako’s tentacle is beneath a plane, representing Skull Island’s surly sea Guardians. This photograph also shows three Skull Island gulls, a subspecies of the Pacific gull often found scavenging the corpses of deceased humans and animals along Skull Island’s coastline (a fate that the long dead pilot of the crashed airplane appears to have met with).

The psychovultures belong to Warner Bros
Oodako belongs to Toho
King Kong 2005 belongs to Universal
One of my Christmas presents was a massive sketch book and some pencils, and since I’m away from my laptop for a while now and won’t be able to do any of the main entries I figured I may as well do some more scenes and stuff. I just decided to do Skull Island’s coastline to demonstrate what newcomers have to deal with. It’s mostly based off of the coast of the Skull Island of King Kong 2005.
