Because why not?Hunters are VEEEERY dangerous in Reach. Not only can they block ANY attack with their shields (including rockets), but their back armor is extremely difficult to break, and it's almost impossible to do any real damage to them until then. They also have their older mortar-like Assault Cannon again, which isn't really something to jump for joy about when you find out they're more accurate as well...
Oh, and their melee attacks are now ridiculously brutal. But that's beside the point.

These guys can move much quicker and not even Sprint will get you around them quick enough all the time. Fighting these guys in New Alexandria is a PAIN. I got into an epic battle with the last Hunter in that mission.
