So yeah.... This is the scene that I imagine it would be in the movie.
An EPIC FINAL BATTLE between this two ~~!!
Unfortunately, Megs kinda like a loser in the movie after second half of the movie when Sentinel has taken control of Decepticon.. So yeah.... orz

I wish they had a grand fight in dark of the moon. I'm not a hater of the bay formers but this really pissed me off with how quick the fight was. Oh yea great work btw. Almost forgot to say that

And its like megatron didn't even put up nearly a fight as the other cons! the giant worm-thing had a better battle with the humans than those two!!!!!!

Basically, instead of Megatron getting axed (haha) off, he and Prime have a discussion about ethics and morality.
Directly from the novel, after Sentinel dies:
Megatron: "You felt it, you must have felt it. The draw of our world. It called to you just as forcefully as it called to me. The difference between us is that I was willing to answer that call."
Optimus Prime: "No, it was never about Cybertron, any more than it was about Earth now. It was always about you. Whatever nobility you may have had once, was long consumed by your overwhelming need to dominate all you see before you."
Megatron: "Such pompousness from you, Prime. Your sanctimoniousness would be more impressive if we did not both know that the two us are very much alike."
Optimus: "We are nothing alike."
Megatron: "I wanted to control Cybertron because I thought I was right. You fight me because you believe you are right.
Optimus: "I am tired of your control."
Megatron: "And I...am tired of fighting. I sue for peace, Optimus. I will order all Decepticons to stand down. It is over. All this is over. Even endless war must end sometime. Our world calls, and I will devote my existence-and the existence of all Decepticons-not to attacking you or humans but to returning to our home world. I have spent far too long destroying, and it has brought me nothing. Nothing. So I wish to try creating for a time and see if that brings me...something.
Optimus: "And I am supposed to believe your words? I am supposed to accept this call for a truce? After all the lies and deceit? After all the attempts to lay waste to an entire world?
Megatron: "Honestly, Prime, it does not matter to me what you believe. You still hold the weapon of Sentinel Prime. Use it. Annihilate me. I no longer care what you do. All I ask is that whatever decision you make, make it quickly.
Optimus: "You are wrong. I am not like you, because if I were, I would destroy you for showing what any Decepticon would define as weakness. Your own people may well tear you apart for this change in your attitude. For you sake as well as theirs, control them."
Megatron: "I will. And when I do return to Cybertron and when I do make things right, I will send for you and the Autobots. We will join and be one race again. A race of peace. We will once again have a home."
Optimus: "There can be no peace through tyranny, Megatron. I hope one day you will realize that."

I don't mean to be rude or nothin', but Megatron survived the robotic equivalent of a stroke and a heart attack. I noticed that Megatron's motor functions (no pun intended) were impaired, and his speech was slurred. He really couldn't do much of anything.

The way that you've posed them, it brings to mind the idea that they're not fighting AGAINST the other, but rather fighting TOGETHER for a common cause. I really rather like it, and i wish they had done so in the movie (among other things, like... say, not killing Ironhide off!).

My expectations for the final battle between this two was highly shattered by what was ten seconds of absolute disappointment. Optimus Prime did kick backside nonetheless though.
I love the colouring and detail on this piece. The two look incredible. This is some fantastic work, you've done a wonderful job.

I foresee this would've been as it turned out if Megatron and Optimus had teamed up to take down Sentinel like it was originally was supposed to be. They would've been awesome partners!
