These are the Gauntlets of the Stormwrought Forge, masterwork of the gnomish artificer, Bellin Thunderhammer. Crafted deep within the Thundering Halls, a sacred site where the natural storms rage with unbridled fury, Bellin harnessed the tempest's essence and bound it to these gauntlets. They were meant for warriors who prove their mettle and bravery by walking into the heart of the storm and emerging unscathed.
Properties of the Gauntlets of the Stormwrought Forge:
Storm's Grasp: While wearing these gauntlets, the user can cast "Shocking Grasp" at will, with the electricity arcing from the gemstones enhancing the spell with a +2 to hit.
Thunderclap Smash: When the bearer hits with a melee attack using the gauntlets, they can choose to release a thunderclap. This emits a sound wave that can be heard up to 300 feet away and forces all creatures within 5 feet of the user (not including the user) to make a Constitution saving throw or be pushed 10 feet away and knocked prone.
Charged Barrier: Once per short rest, the wearer can activate the gauntlets to gain resistance to lightning damage for 1 minute, as a field of crackling energy envelops them.
Curse of the Gauntlets of the Stormwrought Forge:
Tempest's Call: After using Thunderclap Smash, the sky above the wielder darkens ominously. For the next hour, they have disadvantage on Stealth checks as the sound of distant thunder follows them, a telltale sign of the storm's lingering presence.
Overcharge: If the wearer benefits from Charged Barrier and takes lightning damage, they must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of their next turn, overwhelmed by the surging power within the gauntlets.
