[HISTORY]

Not much is known of Pikejaw and Beetlewhisker’s life before the clans. They were found by their foster father, Sharkstrike, as two lone kits abandoned on the cusp of leaf bare. Sharkstrike took them in, introducing them to Tideclan and one of the nursing queens at the time.

From then on, Pikekit and Beetlekit began to train as apprentices. They were both skilled in their fields; Pikepaw, however. was the more reserved of the two, taking his time to learn his skills quickly and efficiently to make his clan proud. His life as a respectful and thoughtful apprentice never experienced upset, until Sharkstrike told the two of their heritage, and how he was not truly their biological father. While Beetlewhisker reeled with confusion and hurt at the truth, Pikejaw was more understanding, and accepted Sharkstrike as his kin even more than before.

Pikejaw was concerned about his Outsider heritage, and tried to find out more about their past or where they’d come from, but all leads were long-since stale. The young warrior decided resolutely to deny his life before the clan, and a resentment for Outsiders grew without even meeting them. He noticed his sister straying from Sharkstrike, and tried to reason with her, but to no avail. He and Sharkstrike grew closer as Beetlewhisker drifted further by the day, her hatred thriving like a wall of thorns.

One evening, as Pikejaw returned from patrol and went to enjoy a meal, he noticed that Sharkstrike and Beetlewhisker were still outside of camp. He thought nothing of it, but found that while they were gone, he couldn’t even eat with the worry that swelled in him. Pikejaw finally went to look for them, following their scents to the tides – as the tom rounded the tree line and padded onto the beach, he caught glimpse of Sharkstrike plunging into the water, retrieving his sister by the scruff. He watched helplessly from the shore until Sharkstrike was able to struggle to the shore, hauling Beetlewhisker in tow, both half-drowned.

The world was blurry through Pikejaw’s tears as their father passed Beetlewhisker to him, urgently pleading the young warrior to save his sister from the waves. Pikejaw tried to grasp his father’s scruff and pull him out of the water, but it was impossible while keeping Beetlewhisker from the frothing depths… With a last declaration of paternal love from Sharkstrike, he was swept out to sea, never to be seen again.

From the day forward, Pikejaw has grown into a resolute and strong warrior, working tirelessly every day to serve the clan in their father’s memory. A deep rift has settled between him and his sister - Pikejaw is disgusted with Beetlewhisker’s disregard for their father while he was alive, and blames her for his death. The two siblings have been at odds ever since, and nobody truly knows if they will ever learn to heal.

Your character offers to take Pikejaw somewhere fun, exciting, or relaxing, to get out of camp – it might be dark, or heavily raining. This plot line could end in the two parting amicably as friends, separating as rivals, or as crushes/romantic interests. – OPEN

Pikejaw and your character are on patrol together, and there is a difficult hunt or a dangerous predator to survive together. Your character gets incredibly muddy/sandy/bloody. Pikejaw demands they go back to camp, where he can give them a thorough cleaning. This plot line could end in the two parting amicably as friends, or as crushes/romantic interests. – OPEN

Your character is from an alternate clan, or an Outsider. Pikejaw either strays too far past the border, or your character accidentally steps over the line. Pikejaw is trapped somewhere with his sister, and their only chance of survival is to momentarily set aside their quarrel and work together. What could possibly go wrong? – OPEN

A very cleanly cat, Pikejaw is almost always grooming in his down time, and if his fur is as perfect as possible, he’ll move to the next cat closest. This is also what he does when he’s agitated or stressed. Sometimes his stomach gets upset because of the long fur he digests, causing nearly monthly trips to the medicine cat den.

He has a deep rooted love for his sister, which is why Pikejaw gets so angry at her behavior. He does blame her wholly for the death of their father, but gets angry with himself for still caring about her, and ultimately still wants what’s best for her.

The skills he possesses make Pikejaw partial to fighting and patrolling the territory. He’s an able hunter, but his large size and solid muscle tone often makes it difficult for him to hunt as well as others, though when he hunts, he won’t come back to camp unless he has something to offer.
