Compassionate
Shadestar is kind and merciful towards others and even cats outside her own Clan, always offering to give aid and shelter to those in need. She can't bear the sight of suffering and does what she can in her leadership to ensure that her Clan thrives to its fullest. If a warrior or apprentice is exhausted, she is lenient and will allow them rest. If there is a death in a warrior's family, she gives condolences and feels their sorrow as though it were her own. She is always there to lend a helping paw or words of encouragement to apprentices, and a listening ear to the stories of the elders, no matter how droning or boring it may be. She relishes the bond to her Clan and cherishes her friendships. Shadestar detests the violence of battles and will try everything in her power to avoid one. However, she always puts the need of her own Clan above anyone else.
Calm
It is difficult to rope Shadestar into an argument, and even more difficult to make her raging mad. At most, she will feel frustration and annoyance, but rarely lashes out in words or claws. This proves useful in times of conflict with Clanmates or another Clan, as she is able to use her level-headed thinking to find solutions and calm them down.
Intelligent
She is a deep thinker, often pacing around within the confines of her den. Her intelligence is important in planning out battle strategies, peace treaties, and detecting the lies and false reassurances of enemy Clans. Her quick thinking means that she is able to easily counter accusations and arguments, often winning and leaving the opponent flustered.
Shy
While she is perfectly comfortable within her own Clan, she often feels timid and withdrawn in front of other Clans. This makes it difficult for her to establish relations and speak her mind during Gatherings, and other leaders may view her as weak, small-minded, rude, or incompetent to be a leader. Luckily, she has a deputy and medicine cat to support her and help her stand up for herself.
Weak-willed
Despite her better judgement and wisdom, it is easy to win her over with pleas and emotions. She has a difficult time saying 'no'. It is easy for other cats to persuade her by invoking pity and sorrow, or by reminding her of what her Clanmates will think about her. Her sensivity to the opinions of others means that she sometimes begrudgingly agrees to what a Clanmate will say, despite actually wanting to disagree. Luckily, this mainly applies to Clanmates, as she could care less what the other Clans think of her.
Sensitive
Because she feels so deeply, it is easy for her to take insults or harsh words to heart. Such words often linger within her and drag her down, and over time she starts to believe them.
Low self-esteem
Despite her selflessness and loyalty, she is still unsure of her actions and tends to listen more to the advice of elders and her deputy. She frets that she isn't a good leader and constantly worries because of . As a result, she over works herself, tending to patrols and joining in hunts. The fear and worry is tiring though, and she wishes something could be done.

Sexuality: straight
Likes: has a deep love for her Clan, rain, food, running, talking with her Clanmates
Dislikes: those who lash out, short-tempered cats, those who speak their mind without thinking first
Fears: Because of her shyness, it is evident that the other Clan leaders view her as an unable leader. Sometimes she lets their accusations get to her, and will spend all night fretting that she is not a good leader after all.

Kithood: Her mother died while kitting her, with her newly born siblings following soon after. Grief-stricken, her father resolved to raise her himself. While the two have an inseparable bond, she was sheltered from most hardships growing up, and was led to believe that the world was a comforting, safe place.
Even as a kit, she liked watching the medicine cat work, and watching them take care of her ill Clanmates with such gentleness, such knowledge, made her resolve to become a medicine cat herself.
She experienced her first battle as an apprentice. Much to the relief of Nightstorm, she was able to stay behind in the camp, as she was training to become a medicine cat. She was able to avoid seeing the blood shed outside the clearing, but like a torrent from a river, the fighting spilled through the gorse barrier. She cowered within the medicine den with her mentor, ears filled with the sound of claws and a dreadful cauterwauling. Her idea of a soft, peaceful world was shattered. Her mentor ordered her to stay before bounding outside to help the others, and for the first time in her life, Shadepaw felt alone. She yearned to help, but her knowledge of herbs alone was useless in stopping a battle. When she did gather enough courage to step outside, she was greeted with the horrifying sight of the wounded, of blood splattered on cave walls and the camp no longer looking like her home. A warrior had died in the fray, and once she caught sight of her lifeless body, she resolved to train as a warrior from then on, determined to defend her Clan and preventing another life from being torn away. She realized the world was much more dangerous, much more merciless, and successfully became a Clan warrior. Her knowledge of herbs is also useful.
Adolescent: She grew up to become a warrior that was both wise and cunning, able to see the smarter solutions to problems despite her young age. Unlike the other apprentices, she assessed each situation carefully before jumping in, and dutifully listened to the advice of older warriors. When a pair of badgers threatened to attack her Clanmates while they were out on a patrol, she took command (surprising both herself and the others, since she rarely issued commands and was mostly a follower rather than a leader), and yowled that everyone duck behind the bushes, out of view. The urgency of the situation quickened her heart and unfurled her courage, and her calmness made her quick-witted despite the panic she felt. While hiding in the undergrowth, she ordered half her cats to pounce out and land on the badgers' shoulders and neck, out of reach of their claws, covering their eyes and blinding them. While the enemies were distracted, the rest of the patrol targeted the badgers' hindquarters and successfully chased them out. Her Clanmates revered her for her courage and quick-thinking.
Several moons later, while out hunting on her own, she spotted a trio of intruders from a neighboring Clan. While initially suspicious and wary, she noticed their thinness and strange, sickly smell, and their pleas eventually won her over. She snuck prey and herbs to them. There was a nagging feeling of guilt, since she knew she was helping cats from another Clan, but pushed it aside with the reason that it was Greenleaf and her Clan was already thriving. A few squirrels wouldn't hurt anyone. After a few days, they recovered and she quickly sent them on her way, with them gratefully promising that they wouldn't forget her kindness.
Still wracked with guilt, she confessed to her leader what she'd done. Her leader hesitated with a far off look, and told her he had always known her for her good judgement and compassion, but reminded her that her duty lay with her own Clan, not the others. To her surprise, he thanked her for her honesty, as not many cats would do the same, but told her to catch twice as much prey, to make up for the ones lost.
Many moons later, as she led a patrol near the border, one of her apprentices overstepped the boundary while chasing prey. The other Clan's patrol threatened to accuse them of prey-stealing, but all at once, recognized Shadefrost for having once saved their lives. She was able to avoid a violent confrontation.
Adulthood: Once, when a battle with another Clan was evident, she pleaded with the leader to rethink his actions and figure out some other way to solve the problem, reminding him that the lives and safety of his warriors were at stake. She managed to persuade him to journey back to the place where the patrol had found the dead body of one of one of their senior warriors, and finally discovered that it was the fault of a pack of foxes that had set up a den within their territory, not because of the other Clan. Without her advice, the battle would have been fought for no reason.
When the old deputy died, the leader appointed her as the new one he old leader appointed her as the new one, because he needed a cat who would think before speaking, put the safety of the Clan at the highest priority, and seek peace rather than wars. At first she objected because she felt she lacked the strength and will to be leader, but finally agreed because she had showed courage and protected her Clanmates in the past.

Shadestar padded out into calm, warm Newleaf night, her paws making soft whispers against the grass. She closed her eyes and breathed in the scent of plentiful prey, of running streams and sweet honeysickle and the faroff traces of moonlight. Somewhere came the hoot of an owl, and somewhere further was the answering reply of its mate. A warm breeze ran its fingers through its fur and rippled the stalks of grass, before trailing off again like a passing thought. She hummed in contentment and paused to blink up at the wakening stars. Her Clan was thriving once more.
