For my next bit of fanart from RWBY is the legendary Pyrrha Nikos.

“Hello again.”

Thank you, Pyrrha.

She is known as “The Invincible Girl,” throughout Beacon, and one of the members of Team JNPR (pronounced “juniper”). Her Semblance is polarity, which allows her to control magnetism. She uses this in battle to easily defeat her enemies. She slightly adjusts the enemy’s weapons to make them miss their target, or move their shields out of the way so she can hit them. You’d never notice this if you fought her face to face.

She is voiced by Jen Brown. Her first name comes from the Greek adjective pyrrhos, which means flame colored (like her bright red hair), which her surname comes from Nike, the Greek Goddess of Victory. She is also loosely based on Achilles, as she has never lost a battle since we’ve seen her, though I doubt her heels are her weakness.

Pyrrha is one of my favorite characters in RWBY because she is such a badass. She took down team CRDL without breaking a sweat, then immediately defeated Mercury to no effort (although he surrendered). Who wants to bet she held a grudge against team CRDL after its leader bullied Jaune back in volume one? Too bad she didn’t break his legs. This girl could cut her way through enemy lines, kill their leader, and come back with their flag without a single scratch. It’s like she’s RWBY’s version of Samus Aran. Any blood on her was from her slain enemies.

She has unrequited feelings for Jaune Arc (JNPR’s leader), who has feelings for Weiss, also unrequited. Pyrrha fell for Jaune because unlike all the other guys in Beacon, he didn’t recognize her for her extraordinary talents and her fame; he just saw her for who she was. Too bad he is completely oblivious to Pyrrha’s advances. I’m half expecting her to pin him against a wall and plant one on his lips.

Two cosplayers helped me out in making this: and , alongside a few screenshots of Pyrrha to make sure I matched the colors and match the details on her weapon and her armor. Her grieves gave me the most trouble, although her shoes didn’t. And I’ve seen her shield held in other ways, but this is how it’s held in the episode when she beats the hell out of Team CRDL. Besides, she probably holds it through her magnetism anyway (the shield doesn’t look like it has a grip), so she can rotate it however she needs to. Her weapon has three different forms: a rifle, a spear, and a sword. Should it really surprise anyone I picked the sword?

Hopefully, if all goes well, I can start on the main characters next.
