“Justice will be swift! Justice will be painful! It will be DELICIOUS!!”

She is the main protagonist of the popular web series RWBY, and represents the ‘R’ in its name. She is the leader of Team RWBY, and is the youngest among them (she’s 15, everyone else is 17). She impressed the higher ups of Beacon Academy, and they accepted her into the group two years before she was old enough.

She is voiced by Lindsay Jones. Her design is inspired by Little Red Riding Hood. Her semblance is speed. She can cover a lot of ground with this ability, almost as though she can teleport. Her weapon is the Crescent Rose, a combination of a scythe and sniper rifle. She is very skilled with Crescent Rose, and has been known to slaughter many Grimm with it. Her uncle taught her how to use it after he saved her from Beowolves when she was very young.

Ruby is absolutely adorable, and she’s my favorite character in the series. Just show her a weapon, tell her she’s going to be a huntress, offer her cookies, or get her to talk really fast, and you’ll see for yourself. She is an unstoppable force of cuteness. Just about everything she says or does will make you want to pinch her cheeks or something. She doesn’t seem to enjoy dressing up for dances, since she wants to change back to wearing her hood, and she has trouble walking in high heels.

Ruby Rose took me about three hours to make. Most of my drawing time was spent on Crescent Rose. It has so many tiny details it almost drove me crazy. Fortunately, I came across two Ruby cosplayers, who also had Crescent Rose out, and they helped a lot in making this. I’m planning with the other girls that they also have their weapons out. Her hair has dark red highlights at the ends, which were easy to replicate. I did hate the red lines throughout the outfit, since I couldn’t color over them, so coloring around them was very exhausting. Even using a red pen to color the lines didn’t make this part any easier.
