And now it’s time for Alola’s other cover legendary to become a Sailor Senshi. It is a Psychic/Ghost type with a base stat total of 680, and is known as “the beast that calls the moon.” Its name comes from Luna, which is Latin for moon, and Ala, which is Latin for wing. Its ability is Shadow Shield, which reduces all damage by half if attacked while at full health.

I have the Sun version, so I’m not able to acquire Lunala unless I trade for it. I don’t see that happening unless I encounter someone willing to trade it to me. I am very familiar with it though, and you’d think working so many night shifts at work, and being a fan of Sailor Moon would do me some favors. Maybe they will in time. Until then, I’m left wondering if Lunala is as good as Solgaleo.

Sailor Lunala’s weapon is a modified Moon Stick, the very same one used by Sailor Moon, and is named Tranquility. The name comes from the Sea of Tranquility, the location of the first lunar landing by humans. Not only does it sport a new color scheme, it also has the logo for the Moon version embedded in it, looking like the Moon Rod from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. This weapon draws its power from the moon. The phase of the moon determines how much of a magic buff the user is given. It doesn’t provide anything if used during the day, or during a new moon (where the moon is behind Earth’s shadow, making it invisible). During a crescent moon, it increases magic power by 25%. Once half of the moon is shown, it raises magic power by 50%. Once the full moon is visible in the night sky, Tranquility reaches its full power, and doubles the user’s magic power. These modifications still apply during overcast or indoors. Imagine her strength if she was actually on the moon, or if she was on a planet with multiple moons.

She bears Lunala’s colors, and I simply had to make her pose the same way that Sailor Moon is known for. I thought about using her hairstyle as well, but I thought it would look better if it was shoulder length, and was free flowing. I gave her moon shaped earrings, with the darker part forming the crescent moon. I placed crescent moons all over her outfit, and blurred the three colors on her skirt just like I did for Solgaleo.

Attacks:

Moongeist Beam: Sailor Lunala grips her wand with both hands and jumps into the air while she glows. She fires a laser beam made of pure moonlight at her target. This attack bypasses abilities

Psyshock: Sailor Lunala surrounds the enemy with bullets and fires them at them. This attack does physical damage.

Blood Moon: Sailor Lunala summons a blood red moon above her enemy and sends it crashing down on them. This attack cannot be blocked.
