Muffy trotting up a flight of stairs.Same (though younger) cat and same staircase as here [link] Used to leave them food at roof level so whenever they sensed me about to ascend, it was a race to the top. Eventually I started to hang camera around my neck just in case a good opportunity (for a snap) came along. Here it paid off apparently...

The composition is wonderful. The stairs, kitten Muffy, the door at the top of the stairs, the angle, and the lighting all come together and tell a story. I like how the edges of the steps are more brightly lit than other parts of the photo. When I look at this photo I see the past in the wear pattern of the stairs. I see a new generation in kitten Muffy, climbing those stairs as so many have before. Muffy is leaving a mark on the stairs - a bit of wear that is too small to be seen by itself, but it is there nonetheless. Muffy is climbing towards the door. Those who walked those steps in the past know what is beyond the door; and now, the next generation will walk that path, go through the door, and discover what lies beyond.
That is what I see when I look at this photo. Another wonderful capture!

Ta! The steps and made of a very soft local stone. They have been worn (in fact only in the middle) by over a hundred years of human traffic hence the droopy feel...

It reminds me of the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time at the end of the game when Link has to go up a bunch of stairs to get to the baddie. Only here it's like kitie form XD

BEAUTIFUL lighting... I totally wanna live there, it's incredible! @_@; teh kitty's so CUTE!!! XD; I love the whole paw-in-the-air thing, and what funny perked-up ears!! reminds me of a praying mantis o.o;; only cuter << XD; the framing is..odd..but I'm sure you did that on purpose o.o original and lovely all around...definitely

Thanks! The framing is meant to add some dynamic movement to the shot (as opposed to architectural pieces that are balanced and static). Don't know if it works well but I think it does.
