i saw Golden at Austin Comic Con, he was sketching out a centaur version of Karza right in front of me! Your Karza seems less artificial, more like the nan0-cyborg he is written as in my opinion.

This brings back memories for me. I remember playing with the toys at a grade school buddy's house. Shortly afterwards came the short-lived Marvel series with stunning Michael Golden art, one issue of which my mother had picked for me. Good stuff!

Short lived? It ran for 59 issues and was immediately followed by a 20 issue follow up.

I might've been thinking of the last issue that I saw on the stands at the local grocery store. This was in the days before the Direct Market (comicbook shops) and when we still got them out of any newsstand that would carry them. By then, I was in my full "X-Men fanboy" mode and never followed up on the title. Golden stopped doing regular comics after then, so I also missed the opportunity to see what else he was doing (though he did do an Avengers annual that co-starred the X-Men, and parts of an X-Men annual a few years later).

I used to have this action figure when I was a kid in the 70's! I remember it was held together by magnets. This is a cool drawing of a bad-ass villain!
