To the left, by the harbour wall on the other side, you can see the waves building. Maybe not so ominous in this photo - but if you grasp the height of the wall (sea side) these waves are huge.
To the right are the restaurants which were completely gutted

I love the composition of this shot, I can't even give you a reason why, it just grabbed my eyes as they were running over the screen. Powerful stuff here, malignant beauty. I have to disagree somewhat, I've always felt that the moment before the serpent rears it's head is more ominous than the violence it foretells; it's the suspense that heightens what some would call terror. I remember when Ike hit in Texas, with water rising and trees flying around it was somehow less dramatic than the build-up, which is exactly what this shows. Brilliant shot!
