The attention to details in the eyes is commendable. With the exception of the nose, everything looks proportional. It may be the way the nose is shaded. The hair has a good movement especially over the shoulder. With a little more emphasis on tone, it could take this portrait to the next level.

Hello, and thanks for your comments. You posted just your pencil work so i'm going to focus on that. I do love pencil and portraits are a real pain in the arse. From the first portrait work to this most recent there is a marked improvement of feature placements. One of the things a lot of people do including myself on pretty much every drawing is overside an element and as you are progressing your getting them more of less at the right proportions. In this case the lips have strayed a little too wide and the eyes need to be made slightly smaller and a just a tad skewed.
My advice for things like lips is not to draw any other line than the actual opening for the mouth, instead draw in only the shadows under the lip and the dip between the nose and lips and darken / apply highlights to the actual lips including the very edges. Every hard line often give the impression of a separate entity on the face or makes the viewer look at that area specifically which works partially well on the eyes as you have the lashes, eye ball and lids but can be detracting for things like the lips and in some instances the nose.
Finish the person & scan then do the background and scan, it will allow you to fiddle with the values a little more so that you can get some crisper results. Another thing is that you can use a blue pencil to set out the frame of the face then shade over the top of this. Scanner usually have trouble picking up blue pencil and if they do you can remove it in most programes. Anyway I hope that helps and keep drawing.

Her eyes get my attention right away. But the rest of the drawing is very well done too. Her nose, her hair, her mouth, all pull the piece together to make a very pretty picture.

very nice, the way you have done her eyes look very dramatic, they where the first thing I noticed in this piece. I also like how you've done the hair it's doesn't look stiff and there is just enough movement to make it seem that it has slipped off her shoulder. great job!
