MY PHANTOM OF THE OPERA IS FANTASTIC! (Yes, that was from the toyota-slogan..) But really, that book/play/movie is AWESOME! I recently saw the play in London, and WOW. So when I got home I felt the need to do some fanart. I listened through the whole double-cd soundtrack... and then the last song like 10 times while doing it.. heh. >.< I like the Phantom of the opera. I thought about naming the drawing by his so-called-true-name, but naaah.
and for the drawing part. I suck. I know. and that stupid fence is a lazy work. but gah. I'm pretty happy with the face, but the lighting was bad. I made photoshop fix the contrast. not good. oh well. sortof nice anyway I guess.

Now that I read the comments, the boat does look like a banana peel in a way...but I love the way you portrayed the phantom! He has that sinister but adoring look on his face. Little more detail would have been nice, but I still love it! I'm a phantom lover, and this is one of the best arts of him yet!

I must say i'm a HUGE fan of Phatom of the Opera as well.
I do believe that you capture the essence of the movie/play/book w/ev. lol
The coloring is done fantastically. I like the use of such neutral colors all around and then have the bright red curtain to the right. It really makes your eye move around the picture. The lighting is amazing but, i'm curious as to where the light source is coming from in the backround? A hole in the celeing? (if it is ... then WOO HOO!! you did a good job of it) haha
The only thing that bothers me is the boat. It looks like a banana peel, but i like it that way! I'm deff. going to fav this one

Haha, i understand were you're coming from. I hate when I have an idea in my head but i can't get the fine details into it and it looks like a pile of mush n stuff. I dot with i had a boat that looked like a banana peel, that would make me happy

Although the face could have used some more fine tuning, I love the way you have him standing with his cloak billowing. I get the impression that maybe someone has come to him in his gondola (perhaps Christine or quite possibly the Daroga?), and he's looking with his stare that betrays none of his emotions. As far as critique goes, I just again say his face could have been made a bit sharper (his ear and surrounding skin looks a little like it's melding with his wig), and then as for the grate it might have been good to have darkened it a tad more up top to contrast with the lighter shades below from the light.

now that's a long comment ^^ I can't thank you enough! All I can say is that making anything sharper would definitly ruin the whole thing, seeing how good I am at drawing people
