This was a commission by Constelia! It was my very first commission in fact.
She wanted me to do a full, completed, starry drawing of her OC Constelia!--->
So here it is! I hope you like it Constelia!

EDIT: I actually entered this drawing into the Hillsborough County fair art contest a while later. It was entered into the youth graphics area, and it won first place! My prize was eight dollars and a blue ribbon that says "First place, Greater Hillsborough County Fair"!

Here is some music I listened to as I completed this. I think its kind of fitting if you listened to them while looking at the drawing:

Overall

Vision

Originality

Technique

Impact

I believe that your traditional colouring is really improving since I've being your follower for a while. Your unique style shows through this work so I'm giving you a four and a half for for originality. The only criticism that I can give is there might be a bit much blue the dragon is kind of lost in the background particularly the head so because of that I'm giving you a four for impact. Your technique is great I can't believe that you can manage to colour around all of those stars. Your colouring is also very strong and controlled there isn't of white spots so a four and a half for technique.

This is my first Critique so I hope it's not that bad. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/> love the drawing

Aww, why thank you! All that I used was regular color pencils (the Crayola kind) and a white gel pen for the stars and signature!

My pleasure. X3

Regular color pencils?! And a white gel pen? Never heard of it. What does the pen do?

  Yep! Regular Crayola color pencils!

What the white gel pen is really, it's like a regular writing pen, but it has white ink (there can be other colors and editions too. You can have a glittery cyan pen, or a regular purple pen for example). Nothing too fancy or complicated! Though it's very effective at making certain highlights and of course, stars! So I highly recommend getting one if you're interested! I'm able to find my at a local Michael's craft store. The pens I get are called Gelly Roll. They can be a little pricey (I can't remember the exact cost), but I think they're worth the investment!

What pack did you get?

Oh cool! Now I'm wondering how you uploaded the drawing like this. The picture just looks so digital! I don't see any shadows or anything. Did you take a picture of it?

Also, congrats on winning that contest!

The pens don't come in any pack I'm afraid. You have to buy them each separately. I think they're about two dollars each (or something like that) now that I think about it. I'm able to find mine at Michael's in a Gel pen bin within the craft paper isle.

I did take a picture of this drawing using an Iphone 4! I just have to position the drawing carefully outside (To get good lighting) and make sure it's as even as possible. Then I snap several pictures of the drawing so that I can pick out the best looking picture. When I'm done and chose the best looking picture, I hook up my Iphone to my laptop and pull up the picture to edit it in Microsoft Paint. All that I do from there is just carefully crop the picture so that there are no "distractions" showing on the sides and so that you see just the drawing. After I'm done perfecting and tweaking, I save my picture and upload it to Deviantart!

And why thank you! I appreciate it!

Oh, no! I was referring to the regular Crayola pencils!   Not the gel pen! I would've asked that in the second line! XD lol

Iphone AND MS Paint? Ooph. Can't you do it with just a regular camera? I don't have an Iphone. lol And is taking pictures at a place with good lighting a good idea? I always thought outside is a bit too bright for the camera to handle. lol

And my pleasure. X3 You earned it!

Heh, sorry about that! The pack that I used was the 50 color pencil pack. I apologize for my mistakes.

Hm... well, I'm afraid I don't know really any other way other than using a scanner (which I would imagine it being very expensive. We can't have one in our home since my autistic little brother ends up destroying everything. He just blew out my parent's door from it's hinges just a few days ago!). I think you could do just a regular camera if you have a cord for it to connect to your computer. From there, I think you can access it's files a pick out a picture to edit (or, if you want to just upload the picture the way it is).

As for the outside lighting, I prefer to take the pictures on cloudy days so that the sun doesn't wash out the colors or I end up casting a shadow onto the picture. Although, with certain pictures, they may need that kind of light. It depends on the picture really!

lol That's ok. I don't think I'm good at explaining things. My bad.

Well, the way I upload pictures, I just take a picture of my drawings with a regular camera in my room and then brighten it up a bit. :/ I really don't know how to improve on these kinds of things. Could you perhaps look at my drawings and see what you think of the pictures I took? You don't have to, but I would like to know how to get a good picture of them somehow. I guess I'm not the best at photo taking. XD lol

Ooph. Sad thing is, I live in an apartment and my balcony has no room for anything since there are dumb boxes everywhere. (Plus, bugs live there. ) And I don't know a good place to take pictures inside. Should I try to open my window and take a picture that way? I'm not even sure if the light from the sun will be pointing the right way.

(And sorry for the late reply. I'm having a lot of stress lately, so I'm being real slow on responding. lol)

What a breathtakingly beautiful dragon! Those wings look just absolutely fantastic! And her coloring has got to be one of my favorites ever. The white outlines on her horns and tail are a really nice tough.

As usual I'm amazed by your celestial backgrounds too- not much else I can say about them than I like your style.

With such simple tools you can create such stunning beauty. Not many artists can do that.

You even made her smile the most gorgeous smile. You have no idea how much that affects me. I love it. ;v;

Aww, thank you! I'm glad you like it!

It all just takes practice and patience! First, I start out with a pencil sketch. Then I start to color in the dragon and planets. Then after that, I color in the sky and speckle it with stars using my white gel pen!^^

You've got so much patience with all those stars... I mean I've got patience when it comes to detail but not much for coloring those details... WHY HAVNT I BOUGHT A GEL PEN YET?!
