Description
Task 8 for , Show your character losing their temper
It took me such a long time to decide how I was going to do this properly, so have a short comic
Much like fear, anger is not an emotion that Jovian shows much. He's more of a slow burn/revenge type. He'll plot something really nasty if you make him angry and probably make snarky comments . . . but he's not the yelling type.
Most of the time. Apparently the yelling starts when someone he cares about is threatened.
This little scene actually happens a bit after his fear assignment. They weren't able to escape, so Jovian made the decision to "surrender", hoping he'd be able to use his name to get them free once the space marines came aboard. The commander of the Marines is Captain George Syntheria.
Jovian was sorely mistaken, since HE was the one wanted. Ioana, too, was on their wanted list since she was a pilot for the company that had been shut down for construction of illegal technology. The Lady has been told to stay silent before they were boarded to keep her secret safe.
When Jovian realizes that they're not going to let him go (after they cuff him and Ioana) he yells out to The Lady a code that tells her to escape via light speed jump to pre-set coordinates.
The Lady starts to move violently, knocking everyone around (which is why the panels are angled weird, I wanted to show that movement) Captain Syntheria doesn't take kindly to getting knocked around and decides that Jovian needs to stop it, and grabs the closest prisoner to him, Ioana, to use as leverage.
Neither Jovian nor The Lady take kindly to the threat, the sound is The Lady prepping something and Jovian knows it. (Which makes this The Lady's anger task as well, since she is absolutely pissed that someone is trying to damage her pilot.)
Here's how I wrote it a long time ago and will probably edit it -
Capture and EscapeThe captain strode in through the boarding tunnel and stopped in amazement. This wasn’t a ship; it was a flying decoration! He glared at the cuffed prisoners being held by his men. The fact that the ship had changed appearance had pretty much clinched in his mind that they had captured a couple of real con artists. How and why they were lurking around the de Rugehala hideout was beyond him.
“Lieutenant, find out their identities.” The man in question started the process while the captain stared at the two detainees. “I have to say, you two must have quite the illusion technology to pull something like this off.” He motioned to the ship’s interior, “Though it’s a little gaudy for my taste.”
“It’s real, Captain . . .?” The man glowered, waiting for some identification.
“Sintheria. Captain George Sintheria. I’m not going to ask your name, prisoner. I’m sure I’ll get y

Great job on this comic! Very nice! I love that this shows the Lady's anger as well, no one better harm her pilot!

Note to self: Never piss off a sentient ship that's carrying you around. It ends horribly. I love Jovian's grin, looks super intense!

Love how these panel play out- from Jovian's rare outburst, to the threat of Captain Syntheria holding Ioana, to Jovian's determined grin.
And kudos to The Lady for charging into action! Go, Lady, Go!
Again, loving the combination of cosmic space and Art Nouveau aesthetics here! And love the tilt of the angles here- it really creates the sense of action and dimension here!

I think you did a great job at a short comic and I really like it, I hope you will consider doing them more often! I love Jovian's expression in the last panel, so cunning but you can also see he's angry as well. Great job!!
